 INDEPENDENCE~  

                  We at Brookside feel it is important that seniors maintain their independence for as long as they can.  We offer housing perfect for the senior who wants to be on their own, yet may need some assistance and feel of security.

Independent residents are encouraged to continue on with their daily activities, but can also have someone to call on, when and if assistance is needed.  We also provide a higher level of care within our assisted living facility for those who need assistance with daily medication, hygiene care, daily checkups, etc.  Click on Amenities: Assisted Living, Independent Living or Layout of Apartments to decide which level of independence is right for you.
 

  DIGNITY~  

                  We understand life’s transitions are not easy.  Brookside is dedicated to making our resident’s feel comfortable by retaining their dignity and privacy.  We are always respectful of a resident’s personal choice and personal care needs. We call each resident by their preferred name and allow them the choice in any personal matters.  Resident’s rights regarding dignity are strongly adhered to.

  LEVELS OF CARE~

                  Because all seniors need a different level of care, we provide continuum levels of living.  The three levels of housing: assisted living, cluster homes, and garden/patio homes, make any transition easier for the resident and their family members as their lifestyle needs change.  Click on Amenities: (Assisted Living or Independent Living) or Layout of Apartments to find out which level of care is best for you.

  FAMILY-STYLE LIVING~  

                  Brookside offers family-style living by providing a common area for TV or movie watching, playing games or cards, or socializing with other residents or family members.  Our meal services are also family-style as we serve the residents at their  own tables.  We feel that meal time is important for a social occasion as well as a time of nourishment.  Also, snacks and juice/tea are always available.  We try our best to meet the individual needs, and always provide an alternative for those who dislike certain meals. 

  SAFETY~

                  In order to provide the safest environment for our residents, the campus of Brookside was designed with no multi-story buildings.  There are no steps on the entire campus.  Every resident has a 24-hour emergency call system in the event of any kind of emergency. Our 24-hour staff is always available to help in any way possible.  During the evening hours, Brookside provides a night watchman that walks the campus.  This offers our residents a greater level of comfort that cannot usually be found at their previous environment.

  BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPING~  

                  Brookside presents a peaceful atmosphere with the gazebo overlooking the streaming brook or watching the fountain in the stocked pond.  The residents also have access to work in the garden, visit the on-site chapel, take a walk on the sidewalk meandering throughout the campus, or watch the birds  and rabbits as Brookside is adjacent to a wildlife refuge.

  ACTIVITIES~  

                  We strive to keep our residents active by offering them a variety of daily activities.  Exercise is encouraged with our exercise programs as well as access to the sidewalks on the Brookside campus.  With the scheduled shopping and medical appointment transportation, daily and weekly activities, fieldtrips,  retreats and games, our residents always have something to do.  We also offer weekly hair care with our certified beautician, and occasional nail care.  We encourage family and friends to visit frequently and participate in taking the residents to community events. For those resident‘s interested in Spiritual activities, Brookside offers an on-campus chapel and Bible studies throughout the week.
